About Us

OUR HISTORY

Evergreen Crops Ltd was formed in 2010 on the beautiful plains of Athi River on the edge of the famous mighty Athi River and has a rich history in growing and exporting fresh herbs from Kenya to the European and world markets.
Whilst we started growing a few varieties of fresh herbs in the initial years; we recognised the value our produce had to our customers and consequently expanded the variety of herbs we grew. We are proud to say that we are the largest grower of variety herbs in East Africa. Our herbs are grown both in-house and open field to ensure continued supply across the year.

OUR PRODUCT RANGE

Our usual herb varieties range from chives, mint, basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, sage, dill, marjoram, tarragon, melissa and coriander. We also offer special herb varieties depending on customer requirements such as apple mint, pepper mint, pineapple mint and chocolate mint. Our herbs are exported in either our Evergreen Crops signature boxes or customer preferred signature boxes as required.

OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Since inception, we have concentrated on ensuring quality control over the herbs we export. We have developed appropriate quality checks at both the farm and pack house level and our deep commitment has propelled us to several international certifications such as:

  • Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices)
  • GLOBAL G.A.P. RISK ASSESSMENT ON SOCIAL PRACTICE (GRASP)
  • Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI)
  • Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI)

We are members of the Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya (FPEAK) and Agricultural Employers’ Association (AEA).

All our fresh herbs meet European standards and specifications and are exported all year round.

OUR HERBS SAFETY AND TRACEABILITY COMMITMENT

We have an excellent traceability system that allows us to document and locate our produce through the stages and operations involved in the production, sorting, packing and distribution.
In respect of issues that many producers face on maximum residue levels (MRLs), we have a strong understanding of the MRL standards in our target export markets and have developed various procedural and biological methods of disease and pest control thus enabling the company to significantly reduce and manage spray programs effectively.
